Synopsis:
From
the first night of her arrival at the ancient mountain home on the rugged
Oregon Pacific coast rim, Angelique Marney is exposed to mysterious happenings
in the inherited home of her mother's ancestors on Fire Mountain. The novel
has historical undercurrents laced with the paranormal that may stir similar
memories within you. There is an environmental twist, and Navarone, mystique
and prophetess of the mountain, and a mysterious hybrid wolf who befriends
Angel, will appeal to you in a heartfelt way.
You
may even feel a tiny twinge of pity for Cary Nichols, Angel's rival for
Tyler Casini's love when Navarone and Wolf enter in to protect Angel's
destiny on the mountain.
I
had a great deal of enjoyment working on Fire Mountain, although it took
quite a few years with many interruptions. Research involved my own family
tree, Pacific Rim natives in 1790, sailing vessels, the coastal area, rain
forests, fauna, flora, and wildlife on Oregon Coast Mountains. I found
that research helped spur me on and propel my writing. I must thank my
writer/mentor, Alan Jackson of Canada, for his invaluable assistance, especially
in the historical parts of the novel that occur in the memoirs of Veronica,
1792. Fire Mountain has everything from attempted murder, to the native
shaman-mystique in the person of Navarone, a wonderful hybrid wolf, a love
story, and the novel has a historical basis. I most especially love the
historical part. It was a joy to write, albeit hundreds of hours to rework
and polish.

About the Author:
Rose
was born in Kirkwood Missouri, USA, she was the third daughter in a family
of five.
There were five great family
years at the Kirkwood home, a two-story frame on three lush acres in the
midst of a pine forest. Earliest memories are of St. Peter’s church in
Kirkwood and weekends of camping out, her father being an avid fisherman
and outdoorsman.
Then there was a move to |
|
Maplewood Mo, and another home.
There were dancing and acrobat
lessons and on-stage shows. There was more camping, and school. The oldest
sister was the storyteller, and the second oldest sister a writer, but
it was Rose who went on to be published.
Fire Mountain is a
first novel. Minor publishing credits began at age twenty-five. The idea
for Fire Mountain formed when there were three small children, and only
after a cousin sent a computerized book of her mother’s ancestry. And so,
the idea behind Fire Mountain formed and grew until it became a novel.
Only after hundreds of re-writes, (or so it seemed,) was she able to say,
finished!
Although writing is
a real passion, she says that her inherent gift is music. At age eleven,
she began piano lessons and music has been the love of her life. However,
she can identify music with writing, she claims, and that she feels the
same creative satisfaction in writing as in playing music. The idea of
incorporating music into an E-book is most satisfying, she says. Further
writing will include her original musical pieces.
Fire Mountain is easy
reading, and carries a message that everyone may understand. There are
also deep meanings and messages within that only those who have loved,
suffered, and lived fully, and who have an open heart and mind, will comprehend.
